Aging data, charging curves and battery electric vehicle application profiles of a nickel-rich NMC / silicon-graphite high-energy lithium-ion cell

This dataset contains measurement data obtained from ten commercial lithium-ion cells of type INR18650 MJ1 manufactured by LG Chem during cycle aging. The cells were iteratively subject to an extended characterization procedure, an application profile simulating battery electric vehicle (BEV) usage, a charging rate test and continuous cycle aging under different conditions. The dataset contains values for capacity and resistance throughout aging, BEV application profiles measured at different aging states and charging curves (different constant current charging rates and constant power charging) measured at different aging states. It also includes an averaged quasi-stationary OCV curve of pristine cells and the power profile based on the WLTP that was used to measure the application profiles. Details on the experimental procedure can be found in Schmitt, Julius; Rehm, Mathias; Karger, Alexander; Jossen, Andreas (2023): Capacity and degradation mode estimation for lithium-ion batteries based on partial charging curves at different current rates. In: Journal of Energy Storage 59 (3), p. 106517. DOI: 10.1016/j.est.2022.106517. Details on the structure of the data can be found in the included readme file.
